Painful Tattoo for Painful Memories

Friday, November 10, 2017
Of course the first thing we thought of was tattoos! We knew that this event had left us painful memories for life, why not make a visual reminder. It took us a few days to come up with the perfect quote, font, and image, but we finally found it.

One of the important things about our tattoos was that we knew we wanted the money to be donated. We found the perfect person to donate it. One of the bartenders that we went to that weekend, the one that asked me for my ID even though I had my over 21 bracelet on, was shot 3 times. The money would go to his fund.

We all took our turns taking the pain talking about the memories from that night. We laughed, we cried, but overall it was the perfect 5 hours with the girls.  I think the hardest part of the night was knowing that the shop was downtown and people walking by made my nerves jump. There was even a shotgun in the back of the shop, I didn't notice it at first but once I did, I couldn't keep my mind off of it. This was the first time that I searched for a place to hide incase anything went wrong.

After our tattoos were done, Alyssa and I went to get our soap and lotion to make sure it healed properly. The car ride to target was interesting. I would say 5-10 songs we had to "next" because they caused memories, had an underlining meaning that we just didn't need. We turned the radio off.

Once inside Target, everyone knew we had fresh tattoos, so of course everyone looked. The young man behind customer service said, "You were there? How do you feel about it?" We had no words, the only thing we could say was "LIFE CHANGING"
